Manchester United transfer news 2015: Completes transfer of winger Memphis Depay from PSV Eindhoven

Manchester United accomplished their first signing of the summer after completing the transfer of former PSV Eindhoven winger and Netherlands-born Memphis Depay who joins the club for a four-year deal with an option for another year.

In a report by BBC Sports, Depay already passed a medical last month but the deal was only finalized recently.

"This is a dream come true for me; to play for the biggest club in the world and also to have the chance to work with someone who I believe is the best manager in the world, Louis van Gaal," the 21-year-old stated.

Depay has been with PSV Eindhoven since he was 12 years old and expressed his gratitude to the club.

"I have great belief in my ability and I work hard to strive to achieve my dreams. I have been at PSV Eindhoven since I was 12 years old and I would like to thank them for everything," Depay said.

Depay scored 22 goals to be Eredivisie's leading scorer as he helped PSV take home their first Dutch title since 2008 beating Heerenveen 4-1.

"It was a great moment when we won the league and I was so happy to be part of that. This is now a new chapter in my life and one that I am looking forward to," Depay stated.

Van Gaal praised the young winger who he worked with in the Netherlands national squad.

"I know Memphis well from our time working together in the Netherlands national team," Van Gaal said.

The United manager added that it will take time for the versatile Depay to adjust in the Premier League but he has no doubts that he will be a great player for the club.

"But I have no doubt that he has the potential to become a great footballer for this club and he is at the right club to continue the good work he has done so far," Van Gaal stated.
