Kim Kardashian, "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star and wife of rapper Kanye West, has confirmed that they would soon be having a baby girl.
The announcement was made on the talk show "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," where the 37-year-old talked about the bundle of joy joining their family of four. The baby, which they had via a surrogate mother, was accidentally revealed by Kardashian to be a girl when she said that North calls the child her "Baby Sister."
In an apparent slip of the tongue, host DeGeneres repeated the reality star's statement that her 4-year-old daughter North's nickname for the baby was "baby sister." As such, Kardashian had no choice but to confirm.
However, rumors of the child's sex have been circulating even before the revelation. During the weekend, Kardashian had held a baby shower party in Los Angeles, which she said was to make North feel and understand that there was something to be ready for.
The party venue was decorated with pink flowers, in line with the cherry blossom theme. In a Snapchat video, Kardashian gave fans a sneak peak of the event, and based on the pink-themed decor, many fans quickly assumed that the baby would be a girl.
The party was attended by their close friends and family, including the clan's matriarch, Kris Jenner. Many noted that there was no sign of the surrogate mother at the party, who Kardashian had to resort to because of complications during her pregnancy with her children.
"And, you know, obviously you pick someone that you completely trust and that you have a good bond and relationship with, but it is still ... knowing that I was able to carry my first two babies and not, you know, my baby now, it's hard for me. So, it's definitely a harder experience than I anticipated just in the control area," Kardashian said.
