Is it Possible to Share Jesus Without Being Rejected?

Sharing Jesus' love and preaching the gospel is what we were commanded and expected to do as Christians. However, this noble task does not come without hardship, as we will surely face rejection one way or another. Still, we must do it.

Easier Said Than Done

It is but normal to dislike the feeling of being rejected especially when all that we want to do is to tell people how much God loves them, even at our expense. It's a truth that goes without saying, something that we must expect.

Most of us, however, after receiving Christ and feeling the love of God, want to let others experience it, too, often neglecting the fact that many to whom we share the gospel will not feel it, receive it, and appreciate it like we did when we did.

2 Corinthians 4:4 tells us that "Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don't believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don't understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God."

Because of this, some people won't accept the gospel the first time we share it to them.

In fact, some of them might not receive the gospel even after a thousand times we share it to them. Sadly, some of them might never even receive Christ in their lifetime. We will feel rejected when this happens, but we must keep going and preaching the gospel.

The Love of Christ

Even if we feel rejected by thousands of people who have heard us lovingly, passionately, and sincerely speak the truth of God's great love in Christ, we must never stop.

Why shouldn't rejection stop us from speaking the gospel? It's because Christ Himself didn't stop even after countless death threats, murder plots, rejections, and much mocking. From the time of His birth until the time He hung on the cross, many wanted to kill Him, hurt Him, despise Him, and reject Him. Did He stop? No. He didn't stop until He finished His task of saving us.

He's the Reason Why We Shouldn't Stop.

"Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." (Hebrews 12:1-2)
