"Hyrule Warriors Legends" for the 3DS and "Hyrule Warriors" for the Nintendo Wii U will see an increase in their roster as a new "The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening" DLC is set to release this summer, and the latest Twitter post from Nintendo reveals that Marin will be one of the newly added characters.
Marin, from "Link's Awakening," was not a combat-centric character in the game she originated in but it is likely that some tweaks will be done to give her fighting capabilities in the two "Hyrule Warriors" games. In the original Game Boy game, she was the girl who rescued Link when his ship crashed onto Koholint Island.
Nintendo has yet to unveil the character's model in the games and how she will perform in combat but the post does reveal the concept art used in the game. This piece showcases Marin's new design, which is somewhat reminiscent of Malon from "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" but with a taller figure and blue aesthetics.
IGN reveals that the DLC will also include 16 My Fairy costume pieces, an entirely new map for Adventure Mode that has two challenge battle scenarios and a brand new weapon for Linkle, the female version of the series' main protagonist. Other playable characters are suspected but have yet to be unveiled in future announcements.
The season pass is available in three different versions: players can avail of the season pass for the 3DS version of the game, a season pass for the Wii U version and a season pass that works for both ports. The DLC can also be purchased separately but for a higher cost than its season pass counterpart.
No official release date for the "Link's Awakening" DLC has yet been announced but it is scheduled to be released by this summer for both 3DS and Wii U versions of the game.
