'House of Cards' season 5 news: Claire said to bring about Frank's downfall

"House of Cards" season 4 has been renewed for at least one more season, albeit without series creator and show runner Beau Willimon, which already indicates season 5 will be the final season. Another reason for this is the ongoing theory that Claire (Robin Wright) will assassinate her own husband, lead character Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey).

According to a report from Netflixlife, the fifth season is likely to be the final season due to the fact that Netflix has not renewed the show for more than one additional season. Netflix's other original shows such as "Orange Is the New Black" have been renewed for three more seasons but this fate was not granted for "House of Cards."

The other main reason is because in the original U.K. series, Frank dies. His death is not caused by any rival he made in his race to rule the country but was planned by his own wife. This is also likely to take place in season 5 if it does prove to be the final season of the show.

Frank does have a rival for the presidential bid but that is not going to be his main problem. Instead, fans speculate that Claire, who is running for vice president, will aim a little higher and will want to take over his position as president. Of course the only way to do this is to get Frank impeached or to have him killed, allowing her as vice president to step up and take his place.

There is also the fact that Claire, for the first time on the show, addressed the audience and broke the fourth wall at the very end of season 4, hinting that she may take over as the new main character.

Season 4 did showcase the husband and wife fighting each other in both personal and political wars and this is likely to culminate with Claire assassinating her husband to end the show and grant her the highest political position in the country.

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
