Even though Steve McGarrett (Alex O' Loughlin) had a close call in the finale of "Hawaii Five-0" season 6 where Danny Williams (Scott Caan) gave him part of his liver to save his life, it seems that the sedentary life is not for Steve as the opening episode of season 7 puts him right in the middle of all the action.

According to the synopsis of "Makaukau 'oe e Pa'ani" — which translates to "Ready to Play" — Danny, who is worried about his friend's proper recovery, asks him to take it easy for the meantime as he is still getting his strength back from his injury. However, when the bodies of two serial killers are uncovered, the team goes on a hunt for a vigilante, Yibada reported.

According to a report by the Christian Post, initial publicity photos show Steve running after a suspect, while a second photo shows him with a bloodied shirt, leading fans to believe that he has been shot.

The same report also gave fans of Steve and Catherine Rollins (Michelle Borth) much hope for a reunion. Although it has been confirmed by Executive Producer Peter Lenkov that Borth will return for season 7, Catherine will sadly not get back together with Steve.

He explained that instead of being about in a relationship, Catherine's return is plot driven and work related.

The show is also set to welcome new cast members like Rosalind Chao who will play the new governor, Keiko Mahoe. Claire Forlani will also be a new addition to the cast in a recurring role as retired criminal profiler Alicia Brown.

Aside from Catherine, British MI6 agent and Egyptian tycoon Lucky Morad (Faran Tahir) will return to the series. James Whistler (Chris Vance) also returns to the show's seventh season.

"Hawaii Five-0" returns for its seventh season today, Sept. 23, at 9 p.m. EDT on CBS.
