Married life seems to agree with George Clooney as the actor can often be seen smiling in the company of his wife, British international human rights attorney Amal Alamuddin. Though many regard Clooney as one of the biggest stars in Hollywood today, the 'Tomorrowland' actor says that his wife never fails to impress him.
Speaking to Nightline, Clooney revealed how even discussing each other's day can turn into an interesting conversation.
"I was shooting [a movie] in New York…and I come home after wearing a bomb vest all day, and my wife has just come back from Strasbourg where she was in the middle of a trial over the Armenian genocide with the International Court of Appeals and asks me about my day, and I say, 'Yeah, I had a fake bomb,' and everything she does has actual consequence," Clooney said.
Clooney and Alamuddin made headlines last September when they arrived in Venice, Italy for their star-studded wedding. The pair took a short motor boat ride along the canals from the Belmond Hotel Cipriani to the Aman Canal Grande Venice resort, where they celebrated their special day.
While the actor is currently busy promoting the adventure flick 'Tomorrowland', the star can't help gushing about his wife, as he told Entertainment Tonight, "She's an amazing human being and she's caring."
"And she also happens to be one of the smartest people I've ever met. And she's got a great sense of humor. There's a number of reasons why [I fell in love.]," he added.
Aside from her work as a lawyer, Alamuddin has also joined NYC's Columbia Law School as a visiting professor.
"I'm always very proud of her when I see her speaking at the International Court of Appeals in Strasbourg, you know, with her robe on," Clooney said. "It's very impressive."
The actor also praised his wife's sartorial choices, saying, "Since the day I met her, she's always had this insanely—it's eccentric, but it's fun—sense of fashion. How does she do it while she's got 11 cases she's working on? It's crazy. It has been sort of fascinating to watch, because she has such great taste."
