Game of Thrones season 6 episode 2 spoilers - Bran makes triumphant return

Bran Stark in Game of Thrones season 6 HBO

Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright) was last seen in "Game of Thrones" season 4 and was absent all through-out season 5. However, HBO has released the official teaser trailer for season 6 episode 2 which sees the triumphant return of the younger Stark as he continues his training under the Three-Eyed Raven (Max von Sydow).

The trailer only gives a very fleeting glimpse of the character who appears to be in some sort of trance. It is speculated that this is because he is warging into an animal or perhaps due to some vision that the Three-Eyed Raven is making him see. According to the official synopsis from Cinema Blend, this is indeed a part of his training but little detail regarding it has been shared.

It is pointed out in the trailer that Wright himself acknowledged that having Bran Stark's story in season 5 would have made it drawn out and boring. This indicates that season 6 will not dwell too long on the story arc of Bran getting a grasp of his abilities as a warg and instead will focus on how and why he uses these abilities to help his family and the Seven Kingdoms.

The report also states that Bran is likely dealing with issues from the past and the future, hinting that he is seeing multiple visions of events that involve the White Walkers and how they may be defeated once they begin their true assault to the Wall and beyond.

However, the episode will not be focused solely on Bran. The trailer also shows Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) speaking with Sansa (Sophie Turner), revealing the truth that Brienne did meet Arya (Maisie Williams) but failed to save her and has not seen the younger girl since.

Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon) is also shown in the trailer and he mentions an assault against the Night's Watch at Castle Black. This may later tie into the story regarding Lord Commander Jon Snow (Kit Harrington).

"Game of Thrones" season 6 episode 2 airs this May 1.
