The script writing for "Frozen 2" is well underway, according to star Idina Menzel, the voice behind the beloved ice queen Elsa.

"We are at story writing and they're working on it and I think I'm in it. That's all I know," the actress told E! News. It is unclear when the script writing began, though.

Menzel then quipped about an unimaginable fate for Elsa which fans of her character might not want to see pan out in "Frozen 2."

Joking about the possibility of not being in the movie, the "Wicked" star quipped, "Unless maybe Elsa falls off an ice cliff and she dies in the first five minutes."

According to Bustle, although Menzel's remark was made as a joke, it is still not entirely out of the question. Disney has put out films where important characters bite the dust.

"Frozen 2" can be next on the list, although the publication still thinks it is very unlikely that the Mouse House will go down that route.

Plot details about "Frozen 2" have been difficult to come by ever since it was announced March last year. There have been rumors about Elsa getting a female love interest, an idea that Menzel is down for.

"I think it's great. Disney's just gotta contend with that. I'll let them figure that out," the star told Entertainment Tonight. The buzz about the "Frozen" protagonist being lesbian has been around for a while.

Elsa might be the only one who will find love in "Frozen 2." According to rumors, Olaf, the heroic and adorable snowman voiced by Josh Gad, will also meet the one in the sequel.

"Frozen 2" is also believed to feature exciting songs that are projected to top the popularity of Elsa's iconic song "Let It Go," which chronicled her journey freedom and acceptance of who she is.

It is rumored that Anna (voiced by Kristen Bell) and Elsa will both sing this song although it is unknown what it will be about.

"Frozen 2" is expected to come out sometime next year.
