Undefeated Keith Thurman wants to face Floyd Mayweather

The undefeated Floyd Mayweather stated after his huge win over Manny Pacquiao that he will be fighting for the last time this September and now one more boxer expressed his desire to face him as Keith Thurman said in a radio interview that he wants the welterweight champion next.

Thurman who is also unbeaten (25-0-0-1 NC, 21 KOs) will defend his WBA world welterweight championship on July 11 in Tampa, Florida against veteran Luis Collazo and believes one more win will get him a shot against Mayweather.

The 26-year-old said on On the Ropes Boxing Radio, "We're definitely in line for the Mayweather shot. We've been in line for the Mayweather shot for a minute but it doesn't matter who I fight in the welterweight division."

"I would love Floyd Mayweather. He's the man. Until the man retires, he's the man. I want to be a legend and the best way to become a legend is by taking out a legend, and that would be Floyd Mayweather," Thurman added.

Thurman defeated Robert Guerrero via unanimous decision in his last fight to defend his title.

He joins a long list of boxers who want to face the unbeaten Mayweather and challenge that 48-fight winning streak.

On top of the list is the man strongly being linked to a fight with Mayweather, Amir Khan.

Khan recently defeated Chris Algieri to retain his title and said a bout against the unbeaten American is close to happening but no announcement is being made so far.

Eight-division champion Manny Pacquiao is also on the list as he wants a rematch with Mayweather who handed him a unanimous decision loss in the highest-selling fight in history last May.

Another undefeated slugger Kell Brook who holds a 35-0 record also wants to face Mayweather but seems to be having a rivalry with Khan as they had an exchange of words in the past few weeks.
