Square Enix's "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" is still in production. The game, announced at E3 2015, is expected to wow fans as it will be using new technology to provide a unique gaming experience.

While the game has yet to be launched, fans were given a glimpse of what to expect from the project as prototypes of "Final Fantasy" characters Cloud and Barret were displayed at New York Toy Fair over the weekend.

According to Attack of the Fanboy, the toys have been displayed before, but fans of the franchise were still impressed with the figures, which were done in varying shades of grey. The toys are a part of Play Arts Kai range.

As for the game, it appears that it won't be making an appearance this year as Square Enix producer Yoshinori Kitase told Famitsu magazine last month (via Siliconera) that this will still be a year of preparations for the "Final Fantasy 7 Remake."

"I'd like to create a new kind of value for the hardware that is the PlayStation 4 for our next announcement," Kitase explained.

The remake is expected to feature a lot of changes from the original version. Kitase and director Tetsuya Nomura previously told Dengeki PlayStation that the game will be fully voiced for the most part and that there will be a new cast of voice actors for those who didn't have lines in "Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children." The dating event will likely be fully voiced, as Kitase and Nomura said, "we can't just not voice that part."

Square Enix has not given any information yet as to how far the map goes, but Nomura said that he wants the game to have some kind of environment with backgrounds that can be affected by the characters. The producer also revealed that they have some ideas for the battles, but it will take some time before they can have the battles in the game.

"Final Fantasy 7 Remake" is currently in development for PlayStation 4.
