'Fallout 4' update: DJ Three-Dog not included

DJ Three-Dog from Fallout 3 Bethesda

One of the first people to hint that Bethesda was working on "Fallout 4" was voice actor Erik Todd Dellums who voiced DJ Three-Dog in "Fallout 3." However, Dellums has officially revealed via Twitter that Three-Dog will not be a part of "Fallout 4" as he has not been called in, right after Bethesda finished the recording voice work for the game.

"I admit, the finality of this tweet felt like a gut punch. Sad to not be included. Best with the game," Dellums shared to his fans.

According to a report from Cinema Blend, this comes as a little bit of a surprise not only because he was the first to officially leak "Fallout 4" but also because he stated via Nukapedia that Bethesda had given him permission to give the information out to the public, hinting that they were adding his character to the game.

It is possible that the character was included in the early development stages of the game and was later replaced for an entirely new DJ. After all, "Fallout 4" doesn't take place in the Capital Wasteland and is instead set in Massachusetts, now known in-game as the Commonwealth.

Cinema Blend also points out that bringing Three-Dog wouldn't make much sense either. It would require Bethesda to take one of the endings from "Fallout 3" and announce it as the canonical choice, narrative-wise, and would also mean that Three-Dog trekked the Wasteland to get to the Commonwealth, which is unlikely since he is not portrayed as a combatant.

Despite the absence of Three-Dog in "Fallout 4," the game is still likely to have numerous radio stations and their own DJ's. The trailers thus far have continued to show off the game's music which fit the 1950s-1960s vibe that the franchise is known for, and if the music is there, then a radio station with a DJ is likely to be present, too.
