'Dragon Ball Z: Ressurection F' release date Aug. 4: What to expect

"Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F'" was a huge success in Japan. According to reports, the movie was number one in Japan box office. "Furious 7," which was dominant everywhere else, only came in second. This makes the region the only country where the Vin Diesel-starrer wasn't number one.

Now, it's U.S. fans' turn to enjoy the super-charged action with the blockbuster film getting ready for its showing in North America from Aug. 4 to 12. Fans raring to see the film should be quick in securing a ticket, though.

The theaters to showcase the film and the tickets to be made available in the U.S. will only be limited. It is still unclear whether or not the movie will be shown in 3D as some moviegoers in Japan saw it in that format. It was shown in cinemas all across the country as well.

Those who want to know which cities will have the film can check out the official website for the movie. The action-packed anime flick will also be released in 74 countries.

The "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection of F" voice cast includes Sean Schemmel as fan-favorite Goku, Christopher Sabat as Vegeta and Chris Ayres as Frieza, the film's antagonist. John Burgmeier lends his voice to Tien Shinhan.

Akira Toriyama, the genius behind the time-withstanding anime series, was hands-on in the movie's screenplay, character design, and concept. The franchise has also spawned a new series titled "Dragon Ball Super."

"Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F'" is the sequel to the 2013 film "Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods," which pitted the gang against Beerus, the god of destruction. It follows Frieza's rebirth into his mightier form, prompting Goku and Vegeta to transform into their most powerful Saiyan form yet.
