The ongoing Future Trunks saga in "Dragon Ball Super" is about to reach its conclusion as fans are now anticipating what will happen in the upcoming episodes.

Fans might recall that during the 66th episode of the widely-followed anime series, Son Goku, who was in his Super Saiyan form, countered the seemingly unblockable energy ball released by the fused Goku Black and Zamasu. Son Goku poured out everything he had with the Kamehameha he used that later on pierced through the gigantic ball and hit the demonic duo.

As a result, the combined opponent was flung far from the battlefield and this seemingly scarred his godly status. The Kamehameha also made half of Zamasu's body droop and at the same time turn purple as it seemed to acknowledge Son Goku's signature blow. This made Zamasu more furious than ever as he went on boasting his power yet again.

Son Goku, on the other hand, thought of an idea to borrow both Gowasu and East Supreme Kai's Potara earrings to perform a fusion of their own. Son Goku and Vegeta went on to fuse as Vegito and scuffled with Zamasu once more. Unfortunately, the supposed hour-long fusion of the protagonists was cut short due to the immense power that they exerted.

Just when all hope was lost, Future Trunks faced the still fused enemy using the life force that was lent to him by people all over the planet. When he saw an opening to Zamasu's attacks, he immediately made a stabbing attack courtesy of his energy sword that was overflowing with power.

Having said that, many theorize that Future Trunks might die in future episodes. However, in the preview for episode 67, where Future Trunks is rumored to be killed off, it seems that everyone is happy and things appear to be looking up. This could mean that Future Trunks may just be returning to his original timeline to start anew. Another thing to look forward to is the rumored appearance of Omni-King.

"Dragon Ball Super" airs every Sunday at 9 a.m. JST on Fuji TV.
