'Destiny: The Taken King' DLC: Year One VIP rewards showcased in recent trailer

Destiny: The Taken King Bungie

The release of Bungie's next DLC for "Destiny" is just around the corner and the company has just announced, via their blog and an official trailer, the Year One VIP rewards as an official "thank you" to all their loyal gamers in the game's first year since launch.

Their official announcement reads as follows:

The Guardians from 'Destiny' Year One are not just players. You are the founders of a new and vibrant community. To us, you're VIPs. When the new kids stroll into the Tower, they'll know who you are. You'll be the shadowy figures clad in the stripes of a Tiger."

The VIP rewards include a Brave Ghost Shell, Be Brave Emblem, Old Guard Shader, and an S-34 Ravensteel Sparrow. All of these will be part of the "Founder's Fortune Pack" and can be retrieved within the Tower. However, there are very specific requirements in order to unlock these rewards.

There are two options to unlock the VIP rewards. Gamers will have to be Light Level 30 or should already own both of the current DLC packs — "The Dark Below" and "House of Wolves" — on or before Aug. 31. When gamers purchase their copy of "The Taken King," they can visit the Tower and retrieve their Year One VIP rewards.

The Year One VIP rewards will be applicable for all physical or digital purchases of "The Taken King," from the standard purchase to the Legendary Edition and Collector's Edition.

The "Destiny: The Taken King" expansion pack will be launched officially on Sept. 15, ending the first year of the game's launch, and can be played by all "Destiny" players, but the Year One VIP rewards will only be given to those who have met the aforementioned requirements.

After the release of the DLC, Bungie will officially move on to Year Two in which the game will experience changes and updates as specified on their blog.
