Seth Wright (Kal Penn) will face one of the toughest ordeals of his career in the upcoming episode of television series "Designated Survivor." The eighth episode, to air on Nov. 29 at 10 p.m. EST on ABC, will also test the judgment of President Tom Kirkman (Kiefer Sutherland).

Wright's reputation and career in the White House will be put to the test in the next episode. The President will engage in a secret mission in Afghanistan to choose who he can trust between two warlords.

The latest episode this week, "Family Ties," ended with the Charlotte Thorn (Larissa Gomes) case finally resolved. It was revealed that Peyton Lane (Cariba Heine) killed Thorn out of grief and anger. It was also discovered that Cornelius Moss (Geoff Pierson) had an affair with Thorn.

Leo Kirkman (Tanner Buchanan) was also a subject to a trickery for the Turkish president to gain some leverage against Kirkman. Finally, the bribery lawsuit against Kirkman's mother-in-law Eva (Bonnie Bedelia) is still unresolved.

Viewers also saw an aggressive side of Kirkman in the seventh episode. After being cornered with several issues, Kirkman shouted in front of his staff, "D*** it! I am tired of you people always telling me my hands are tied!"

Production of the series will take a short break with the next episode to be released two weeks after the last on that aired on Wednesday, Nov. 15.

The show hasn't introduced a new villain yet after the death of Patrick Lloyd (Terry Serpico). The connection between Lloyd and Kirkman's family has yet to be revealed in the upcoming episodes.

"Designated Survivor" is still consistent with its story execution, according to reviews. The show so far received an 85% score rating from Rotten Tomatoes and 8 out of 10 score from Tv.com.
