The 2014-15 NBA season just concluded now teams will try to strengthen their rosters through trade deals and the upcoming free agency and one of the players who will likely be going to a new destination is Denver Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson.

Denver struggled last season missing their second playoffs in a row also having troubles with their coaching staff.

The Nuggets fired Brian Shaw March and Melvin Hunt took his place as interim head coach.

Denver addressed its head coaching issue recently hiring former Sacramento Kings head coach Mike Malone to be the main man on the sidelines for the team.

Despite the recent hiring, the Nuggets are still far from being playoff contenders and there are no reports of highly-regarded free agents wanting to be with the team.

Because of this, one of the team's most efficient players in Lawson is attracting attention from other teams namely the Dallas Mavericks and Sacramento Kings.

Lawson's numbers dipped last season following a 30-52 finish for the Nuggets but he still managed to record 15.2 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.2 steals and a notable 9.6 assists per game.

The Mavericks could use Lawson after their signing of former Boston Celtics playmaker Rajon Rondo did not really pay off for them.

Dallas reached the playoffs but they had some issues along the way and one of those was Rondo's communication problems with head coach Rick Carlisle.

Meanwhile, Sacramento is strongly being linked to the 27-year-old point guard as his next destination.

Kings new head coach George Karl was still the Nuggets' head coach in Lawson's first four years with the team.

Karl helped Lawson develop and since he left the playmaker flourished but was unable to really help the Nuggets reach farther in the past few seasons.

The Kings could trade point guard Darren Collison to the Nuggets to acquire Lawson and reunite him with Karl.

Collison played 45 games for Sacramento last season averaging 16.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.5 steals per outing.
