Dallas cowboys trade rumors: Darren McFadden sticking around until Ezekiel Elliott is stable?

It has been a grueling battle for the Dallas Cowboys this past year, and they are apparently seeking to regain their former glory with this new trading season.

Gospel Herald reports that this team might just be aiming to regain DeMarco Murray into the fold once again, after a heartbreaking drop when he left to sign in with the Philadelphia Eagles. However, while they did seem interested in this deal for some time, it looks like Murray is being handed over to the Tennessee Titans instead. This time, the Cowboys are aiming to beef up their new team with the help of young Derrick Henry. They might even take him at the risk of losing Ezekiel Elliot and Darren McFadden.

The owner and manager, Jerry Jones, appears to be desperately aiming for any kind of match-up that would result in an outstanding victory. SB Nation reports that the ideal choice for this team would be for them to finally trade McFadden so that he could make way for the new generation.

McFadden himself thinks the same way: when interviewed, he said, "I've been around the game long enough to know there's always a new guy coming in, whether you pick him up in the fourth round or the first round. I'm a guy who's getting older, so I know somebody is going to come in and take over."

This is the final year for McFadden's deal with the Dallas Cowboys. He's already gotten a great track record under his belt- over 100 yards in five games from the previous season alone, and having a 1,000 yard season in his list. These qualities, along with his reliability and affordability, is going to make teams fight for a chance to bag him when they get the chance. Back then, during the draft, he was already being shopped -- but the teams were shot down by Stephen Jones at the time. This time, the Cowboys appear to be making strategic moves instead of sheer gambles, and thus until Elliott is reliable enough, they cannot let go of McFadden just yet.

Todd Archer from ESPN had this to say about it:

"The running-back case will be interesting to watch. Since the Cowboys just signed Morris, he would be safer than McFadden. If the Cowboys deal McFadden they are looking at a $100,000 cap hit, so no worries there. But, again, I'd be careful."
