The Dallas Cowboys' Sean Lee missed the whole 2014 season after suffering a torn ACL last May during the offseason, but a year after the injury all signs point to positive things for the returning linebacker.
Lee is trying to get fully healthy and has been participating in individual drills during the Cowboys' organized team activities though he has not been really joining the team in 11-on-11 drills, according to the Cowboys' website.
"He's doing really good. He's working in the individual. We're trying to pace him and get him more reps every day. It's (up to) the trainers and all the guys that are watching him," linebackers coach Matt Eberflus said according to the site.
"We're just trying to move him forward every day through these OTAs," he added.
Meanwhile, Dallas defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli called the 28-year-old a ball of energy in a report by NFL.com.
"He's a ball of energy and excitement and that represents who we are. He's moving well. We're just being smart as we get him ready to go. But he's got a lot of good quality work in," Marinelli stated.
In their hopes of keeping him healthy for the rest of the season, which they failed to do in the past years, the Cowboys moved him from middle linebacker to the weakside.
The switch will benefit the Cowboys and Lee as he will be able to run more using his speed with less traffic that may cause another injury.
Marinelli said instincts will be helping Lee in adjusting to the new position he was moved to.
"But it's awareness and I think he's really got good instincts to play. He's covered up so there's always somebody in front of him. Now I think he can really use his speed," he said.
According to the report in the Cowboys website, Lee has been attending team meetings while he was out of action during the 2014 season.
"Class, class. He stayed in meetings. He just did everything he could to try to help us win. That's who he is, that's what he's about, so it's special seeing him out here with us," Marinelli added.
