Cleveland Cavaliers LeBron James news: Star still feeling the sting of NBA Finals 2015 loss to Golden State Warriors

Cleveland Cavaliers star and four-time MVP LeBron James is still feeling the pain of the defeat they suffered in the hands of the Golden State Warriors for the 2015 NBA Championship.

James and the Cavs had a bad start but were able to piece the puzzle and make it to the Finals despite all the setbacks they went through especially injuries.

In the series against the Warriors, without forward Kevin Love and losing point guard Kyrie Irving, James led Cleveland to a 2-1 series lead only to lose the next three games for a runner-up finish.

"It hurt to lose, and I'm still in a little funk right now, but I'm trying to work my way out of it," James said in a video posted by Bleacher Report Saturday.

"You know, for a team that's first getting together, in our first year to be able to reach the Finals -- not saying I'm happy with the results, but I'm proud of our guys," he added.

The 30-year-old also discussed how the team developed since the first day they came together.

"Just the growth that they had from the first day we walked in the gym to the other day, us losing, I'm proud of the guys and what they was able to accomplish," James shared.

Despite the devastating loss in the Finals, the four-time MVP is happy returning to Cleveland and giving back to his hometown.

"Being back home is everything that I dreamed of, everything that I thought about. Being back with these fans, being back with this community, just being back here and trying to bring joy to this city, which deserves it. Bringing a sense of pride to this city, which deserves it. Giving this city something to talk about, which they deserve," James stated.

Being a true competitor, James now looks ahead for next season as he said, "Hopefully I can put our team in position once again to try to compete for a championship next year and year in and year out. That's my goal, and my inspiration hasn't changed."
