Christian Party candidate standing in Eastleigh by-election

Kevin Milburn will be standing for the Christian Party in the Eastleigh by-election on 28 February.

The 60-year-old is making marriage a key part of his campaigning platform in light of the Government's decision to legalise gay marriage.

Mr Milburn served as a prison officer and health care officer for 33 years before retiring in 2007. He has led his church fellowship for the last 22 years.

The Christian Party is hoping to make inroads among Christians and others who support Christian values and feel unable to vote for the main parties.

Jeff Green, leader of the Christian Party said: "The Christian Party 'Proclaiming Christ's Lordship' is delighted to have the opportunity to challenge David Cameron's agenda in the Eastleigh by-election.

"If you vote for Kevin, you can send a very clear message to David Cameron and Nick Clegg that people are saying 'Yes to integrity in politics' and 'Yes to traditional marriage'."

The by-election is being held following the resignation of disgraced Lib Dem MP Chris Huhne.
