"Attack on Titan" season 2 is part of the 2016 line up of Wit Studio, the anime's production company. Now, it is being rumored to be ready by the second quarter of the year and fans are all getting hyped up.

Nobody can blame "Attack on Titan" fans for being all too excited. The first season of the anime ended back in September 2013, and they have been waiting ever since. The good news was brought in by a Twitter user named Shonen_lord, according to a previous report.

Current rumors circulating in the community say the upcoming season will be ready by the second quarter of 2016. Though without proof, this just shows how fans would want to watch the series at the soonest possible time.

There is no confirmatino of what the storyline will be for the second season, allthough there are conflicting reports about it.

It is rumored that the next season of the show will divert from its manga counterpart and will employ a different storyline. It is said that it will not continue with the political situation story, which is present in the original plot.  The titans are said to be created by their own government, as GameNGuide reported.

If the rumors are proven to be true, the anime version of "Attack on Titan" does not need to wait for the manga version to have enough material to move on to the next episode, which was one of the rumored reasons for the delay in the anime.

However, many fans still believe that the "Attack on Titan" anime will stick to its creator's original story. The anime production team has said before that they will follow the manga path, and with this in mind, this means that the second season will continue to dwell on the political dilemma of the story and will directly continue the story of the first season.

"Attack on Titan" is considered one of the best manga ever written. It received a bigger following after its anime was released and has gone bigger after a video game and a live-action adaptation were created.

The number of episodes for the upcoming season has not been confirmed either.
