Although Samsung has yet to release the official build of Android Marshmallow for its flagship devices, first impressions on the beta version of Android 6.0 for the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge were so favorable that expectations of the OTA version are already building up.
SamMobile managed to get into Samsung's new Android beta program and downloaded the Android 6.0 beta version for the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. According to the industry follower, if the same features from the beta version will also make it to the final Android Marshmallow build, Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge owners will get to enjoy some new features on their devices.
Apparently, the Android 6.0 build by Samsung overhauled the interface for its TouchWiz UI. Images uploaded by the industry observer showed that the South Korea-based company chose a cleaner, leaner, and minimized look for its icons, combining white and blue for its windows. However, owners still have the option to change colors through themes, with some new ones being added with the new build.
Meanwhile, although the Samsung chose to build its own version of Android M and layer it with its own homegrown interface. The beta build still retained some stock Android Marshmallow features that were released by Google some months ago. Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge owners still get to enjoy Google Now on Tap, as well as the additional customized options in the camera section of the new firmware.
However, the Android M version showcased is still the beta one, with Samsung rumored to be planning an early 2016 release for the official OTA build. According to previous reports, Samsung flagships will get their official Android M updates starting this month. The schedule was already an updated one, though, since the original rollout was supposed to have started in December with an Android 6.0 release for the Galaxy Note 5.
