There are only very few handsets entitled to don the latest version of Google's operating system, the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. According to reports, only one percent of the entire array of Android devices is eligible to receive it at the moment. This insanely small percentage includes LG's January-released curved smartphone, the LG G Flex 2. There is a catch though: only the Korean version of the handset is up for the sweet treat.

Owners of the variant with model number F510S can now update to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. This update brings along much needed bug fixes and it should improve the performance and stability of the LG G Flex 2. One of Google's attempts to perk up the handset's performance with the newest Lollipop iteration is having Smart Notice and Smart Bulletin disabled by default. Should users want to enable these features once more, they can do so from the home screen or the widgets settings.

To enjoy this newfound ability and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, owners need to be on the lookout for a notification prompting the download and installation process. Checking the settings manually is also a way to make sure that the LG G Flex 2 is ready for a big makeover.

It is important to note that while LG G Flex 2 owners in Korea are the only ones who can update to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop for now, users outside the company's home fort can expect a rollout for theirs to follow. It usually does not take long before the software leaps from one market to another. However, there is still no specific date for it.

As for the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop release in general, users know the drill. Google has been rolling it out to Nexus devices, which are always the first ones to receive a new firmware. Those rocking the Nexus 4, Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 are already enjoying the sweet new treat. Bigger rollouts are expected to follow.
