American World Evangelisation Conference Draws Over 600 Mission-Minded Attendees

TEXAS, USA - Dallas Theological Seminary has hosted an annual World Evangelisation Conference (WEC) last week, drawing over 500 attendees to the event focused on discovering God’s mission and the role of the Church in its fulfillment.

|TOP|Taking the theme of “Missio Dei” (God’s mission), the annual mission conference ran from Mar. 6-10 and included seminars, workshops, prayer meetings, and an international worship session. The seminary student body present at the conference represented 41 countries and the event drew about 40 different mission agencies that represent missions all over the world.

Workshops include reaching out cross-culturally and using sports as a tool for witnessing.

According to Dr. Mark Bailey, DTS president, popular prayer topics during the conference included meditating on the Missio Dei theme, identifying with Christ and his suffering as Easter approaches, praying for a DTS graduate student that is in prison in Indonesia, and current event issues such as children at risk – including those affected by the Africa HIV epidemic, human trafficking, and the persecuted church.

“We just finished the first plenary session with Dr. Larry Dinkins and heard his testimony of where God has taken him in mission,” said Dinkins told The Christian Post on the second day of the conference.

“There has been a great atmosphere of enthusiasm. We had an international worship and dessert session last night with the worship led by our Chinese and Korean students in full costume. So the first 24 hours has been great and I look forward to rest of the week.”
