As the return of "Vikings" season 4 draws closer, the cast and crew continue their work on "Vikings" season 5, which promises war and blood.

Katheryn Winnick, who plays Lagertha in the series, has been sharing behind-the-scenes photos and videos from the filming location.

In one clip, she showed makeup resembling cuts on her face, suggesting that her character will, to no one's surprise, once again be embroiled in a battle come "Vikings" season 5.

This is not a shock since Winnick herself was the one to share a couple of short videos showing the filming of an epic war between two armies.

Although wars will brew and be fought in "Vikings" season 5, fans can expect the same in the second half of "Vikings" season 4. The new episodes will reveal how Ragnar Lothbrok's (Travis Fimmel) return will affect his people and the whole Kattegat.

Meanwhile, Alex Hogh Andersen, who plays Ivar the Boneless, shared a promotional image for "Vikings" featuring himself next to his on-screen father, Fimmel, for some father and son bonding. Andersen even included a hilarious caption where he imagined a conversation about the two about girls and how Ivar can get one smitten for him. "Dad... I could use some [advice] about women," Andersen wrote, imagining what his character will say to his father. "Son... not from me," the king of Kattegat answered.

Fans who follow "Vikings" would know all too well that Ragnar might actually be the last person to get advice from when it comes to women.

Meanwhile, History has released a bunch of promotional images for the second half of "Vikings" season 4. The tagline for the new episodes reads: "Who will fall?"

As fans would expect, the back half of "Vikings" season 4 will not be all too forgiving to every character, so viewers should expect the worst as Ragnar builds up his next successor, and Lagertha wages war against Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland).

"Vikings" season 4 returns on Wednesday, Nov. 30, at 9 p.m. ET on History.
