'The Vampire Diaries' season 6 spoilers: Elena will be without Damon

Based on the most recent spoilers, Elena will be left alone on the sixth season of "The Vampire Diaries".

A lot of juicy details about the upcoming season 6 of "The Vampire Diaries" were revealed at the recent San Diego Comic Con. One of the biggest shockers among these spoilers is that Elena will be alone next season.

This is backed up by spoilers spilled in various occasions. According to "The Vampire Diaries" writer and producer Julie Plec, Damon and Bonnie who disappeared to The Other Side will never come back, although she did not confirm whether the two were dead. With Damon not coming back, Elena will be left on her own.

It is believed that Elena will grieve the loss of her lover. The panel at the recent San Diego Comic Con, especially the executive producer, also confirmed that Elena and Stefan will not rekindle their old flame. Thus, it seems that Elena will indeed be alone for a while.

In a separate interview, Plec told TV Line: "I'll just say that I think it'd be super sad for a young woman in her vibrant, early years to take her life and die on the sword for the love of a man. As much as I am a romantic and believe in true love, I also believe in therapy and trying to pull yourself together and getting on with your life."

Meanwhile, Julie Plec said some of the Originals characters will come to Mystic Falls. She explained that the writers and execs are always "talking about different paths" that can be taken to allow crossovers. However, the show runner has not revealed additional information about the appearance of the Originals character. Also, some sources suggested that Stefan will soon realize Caroline's feelings towards him and there is a possibility of new romance in the series.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 6 will be back on air on Oct. 2 at 8/7 on The CW.
