'The Sims 4' DLC release date news: upcoming expansion pack connecting to 'Dine Out' DLC?

 EA/Maxis

Fans are waiting for the next expansion for sandbox sim game "The Sims 4." Speculations suggest that the next DLC may be closely related to the "Dine Out" expansion already released.

According to rumors, publisher Electronic Arts is thinking of expanding the "Dine Out" DLC for the game, as the next expansion is said to be about city life. Reportedly, a previous supposed leak revealed that a "City Life" DLC is the next content for "The Sims 4."

While EA has yet to comment on the rumors, an outside-the-community expansion dovetails with previous teasers by the studio. The Bitbag recalls that Electronic Arts circulated a survey among players last year, asking the group what they wanted in an expansion. One of the favorites is dubbed as "Metropolis," described as a DLC: "Move into a bustling, modern city! Live in New apartments and penthouses eat food at carts and shop at street markets and immerse your Sims in the different cultures of the city by exploring the many diverse neighborhoods."

Should this prove true, then the next expansion content for "The Sims 4" will most likely be similar to the "Dine Out" DLC, only this time, sims will go out and explore community markets instead of fine-dining establishments. The publisher has yet to confirm it, though the next expansion pack is expected to come out before the holidays.

Meanwhile, EA has debunked a rumor that the toddler life stage will return for "The Sims 4," much like how the detail was featured in previous franchise games. Speculations started when data-mined models revealed toddler textures inside the current-gen title. However, EA issued a statement that the models are old ones and will not be used in a supposed update. Instead, the toddler models are "all old assets that were used to create the custom Andrew Wilson image a couple years back".
