Noah (Dominic West) and Alison's (Ruth Wilson) illicit relationship will get even more complicated with the arrival of their legal spouses in the upcoming season of "The Affair."

Christian Post reports that season 2 of the Showtime series will be expanding to include Cole (Joshua Jackson) and Helen's (Maura Tierney) point of view. While Noah and Alison would still be front and center, viewers will also be seeing more of the other two as the consequences of the affair starts to be known.

Helen will now realize how flawed the man she married is. In the show's promo, she can be seen arguing with her mother Margaret (Kathleen Chalfant). While claiming she still loves her husband, she admits that he does not deserve her trust and devotion.

As for Cole, he has still not given up on Alison and wanted her back at all cost. He will go head-to-head with Noah and convince her that they deserve another chance. It appears, however, that he is also planning some revenge for what she did to him, so Alison should be careful with her husband.

The website also posits that aside from the complications their spouses will bring, Noah and Alison will also experience bad times ahead. Alison will be dealing with her mother-in-law, Cherry (Mare Winningham), who blames her for Gabe's death. With her history of suicide attempts, it is highly likely that she will harm herself, especially now that Noah is distracted with his own problems.

In an interview with Wall Street Journal, Wilson revealed that season 2 will not be kind to Noah, as he will deal with his arrest which was left hanging last season's finale.

"The first season's question of who killed Scott Lockhart will continue to put a damper on everyone's lives. The mystery becomes the driving force of the show," she said.

"The Affair" season 2 will air on Sunday, Oct. 4, at 10 p.m. EST on Showtime.
