Barry will take advantage of his past involving the evil Harrison Wells aka Eobard Thawne in the next episode of "The Flash" season 2. Titled "Flash Back," the installment sees Barry travel back in time.

In the previous episode, Team Flash learned that Zoom is Jay Garrick all along through Cisco's powers. The discovery pushed Barry to make himself faster sooner rather than later in order to stop Zoom as soon as possible.

In the next "The Flash" season 2 episode, he will do so by going back to the time when the wheelchair-bound Harrison Wells trained him to be faster. He lands on the period where Pied Piper wreaked havoc in Central City. Actor Andy Mientus reprises his role as the ex-S.T.A.R. Labs employee gone rogue.

Pied Piper is the least of his worries, though. Barry seems to have forgotten how brilliant Wells really is. The promo for "The Flash" season 2 shows that Barry's cover is blown and that Harrison knows that the Barry he is talking to is from the future.

There's little surprise there since Wells, who fans know is actually Eobard Thawne, is from the future himself. It remains to be seen what Wells plans to do with future Barry, but the scarlet speedster has a lot more on his plate.

His return to the earlier timeline in "The Flash" season 2 episode 17 also allows future Barry to see familiar faces he'd thought he would never see again.

The next "The Flash" episode will bring back Rick Cosnett as Eddie Thawne, who is very much alive in this time period. Barry also comes across his version of himself from this timeline and they engage in a brawl.

Lastly, Barry's return to the past disrupts the fabric of time, explaining the presence of an uber-dangerous Zoom-resembling Wraith, which means that Barry has meddled with something he isn't supposed to.

With all that packed in one episode, next week's "The Flash" season 2 will definitely be full of action and time-travel mayhem.

"The Flash" season 2 episode 17 "Flash Back" airs March 28 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
