Kara (Melissa Benoist) will face-off with her vengeful Uncle Non (Chris Vance) when the hit CBS series "Supergirl" returns after its winter break.

In "Blood Bonds," TV.com reports that the Kryptonian will seek revenge for his wife's incarceration. During the midseason finale, Astra (Laura Benanti) was apprehended by the Department of Extranormal Operations (DEO). Although she tried to influence Kara into freeing her, the latter did not fall in her trap. In episode 9, it is expected that Non will do everything to get his wife out of her cell.

The synopsis reveals that he is not averse to playing it dirty, as he will kidnap one of Kara's friends to flush Supergirl out. After learning that Hank (David Harewood) is abducted by Non, Kara will do her best to rescue him. This will reportedly lead to a tense standoff between the two. Who will win this fight? Non is proving to be a veteran warrior with no remorse for killing. Will Kara be able to defeat him and save Hank?

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg hinted at what fans could expect for the series' upcoming episode. He said that they were in for a treat, as when "Supergirl" comes back, the episode would be featuring "one of the coolest fights" the creative team has prepared. He also said that there would be flashbacks shown, just like in the midseason finale.

"We have flashbacks to Krypton. In episode 9, the flashbacks to Krypton are Astra and Non's trial, which is kind of fun to see, especially seeing Laura Benanti act against herself," he revealed.

Episode 9 will also see Kara's continued denial to Cat's (Calista Flockhart) suspicion that she is Supergirl. Kreisberg teased that the scene will be "hilarious and heartbreaking and emotional" for the pair. With Cat starting to piece it all together, Kara will better be careful or her secret will soon be revealed.

"Supergirl" returns Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
