Online Spring Harvest hits over a million views

After being forced to move online because of coronavirus, the digital version of Spring Harvest has proved just as big a hit after clocking up over a million views.

The main event normally attracts tens of thousands of Christians when it takes place over four weeks in Minehead, Skegness and Harrogate each April.

But huge numbers tuned into the rebranded digital event, Spring Harvest Home, which was put together to ensure that those who had been due to attend the physical conference didn't miss out.

The entire conference programme was streamed live via YouTube, ensuring that families and individuals across the country were able to share in the experience.

The Home edition took place around the theme of 'Unleashed - The Acts Church Today', and content will stay online until the end of April.

Gavin Calver, General Director of the Evangelical Alliance and Chair of Spring Harvest said, "Never has there been a more important time for usto gather together as a community to worship, learn, laugh and pray together.

"Each year we welcome up to 35,000 attendees at our event across three venues.  It is just incredible that we have seen so many tuned in to celebrate together over Easter week."

The cancellation of the physical conference has nonetheless posed huge challenges, with losses estimated at £1.5m, and organisers Essential Christian are appealing for donations to ensure its survival into the future.
