'Mass Effect: Andromeda' updates: Bioware's character model for new protagonist leaked

New highly detailed images that provide a closer look at the protagonist of the highly anticipated shooter "Mass: Effect Andromeda" were recently unearthed from a post on the 3D model artists community website ZBrushCentral.

The most notable detail about the photos is the N7 logo on the uniform of the explorer. In addition, the Pathfinder, as it is being called, looks a lot like the one shown in the trailer released by Bioware at the E3 2015.

The images are described as Bioware Montreal's character model for the new "Mass Effect: Andromeda" hero, which were created by Herbert Lowis. Indeed, they look a lot like the Pathfinder on the run in the teaser.

The costume has nods to the old costume Shepard donned in the first "Mass Effect" games. Either way, the red and silver armor still looks stellar.

The face behind the helmet is not exposed, unfortunately. This begs the question of whether or not the Pathfinder will ever have a face. Even if the new "Mass Effect: Andromeda" lead will, there's the mystery of whether or not he or she will ever show it.

The photos also easily make players think that the hero in the suit is Captain Shepard. However, for multiple times, Bioware maintained that the explorer that helmed the missions in the first three "Mass Effect" titles will not be back this time.

Not much is known about "Mass Effect: Andromeda" at the moment. All that's confirmed is that the Pathfinder will lead the way to a new mission. There's virtually no information as to who this Pathfinder is but previous leaks suggest that he or she is an untested explorer.

The leaks also claim that players will help the hero get better and gain skills as they tread new and dangerous regions in space.

Bioware has been tight-lipped about "Mass Effect: Andromeda" ever since it was made official last year. Hopefully, new details will emerge as the game approaches its purported early 2017 release date.
