In the last episode of 'Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.', fans saw how Skye was somehow able to trace her past. The closing scene saw the Diviner opening and eventually encasing Skye (Chloe Bennet) and Raina (Ruth Negga) in cocoons with Triplett (B.J. Britt) eventually getting killed after trying to save Skye.

Skye grieves and tries to deal with the loss of Triplett who was trying to save her but finds out that she is gifted with special powers. And those powers are her ability to cause earthquakes whenever she gets emotional or upset.

Skye's special powers apparently came out as a result of her exposure to the Terrigen Mist during the midseason finale. And with the discovery of the said powers, Skye finds herself in a predicament and ponders on makes her think on whether the powers are really caused by her.

With the special abilities, Skye would now have to try and deal on how to control the said abilities. But in the process, other twists come into play. That includes her role in the team which in the initial stages would have the team clueless about her uncanny powers.

Her relationship with the other team member becomes cloudy although it will eventually turn out that she needs to be safeguarded to ensure that she does not eventually fall into the wrong hands.

The new twist could help hone the roles of inhuman characters in the series, something many have been expecting though there is no actual Marvel Superhero that really appears in the series.

With the new twist, the transformation of Skye is seen as something that will perk up the series flow.

Season 2 of 'Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' continues March 3 on ABC titled "Aftershocks".
