'Grey's Anatomy' season 11 spoilers: Amelia operates on Herman with doctors watching

Dr. Herman's life hangs in the balance and it's all in the hands of Amelia to save her in episode 14 of "Grey's Anatomy." The former already lost her vision due to the tumor in her brain, and "The Distance" will reveal whether or not the ailing doctor will be given a second chance at life. Predicting her fate is not easy as the promo for the episode shows how that the neurosurgeon realizes that the surgery she is about to do is way "over [her] head."

Amelia is not very confident about the success of the operation, filling her head with misgivings as she takes charge of the life-changing procedure. It is not just performing the "surgery of a lifetime" that scares the living daylights out of Dr. Shepherd; the fact that there will be a flock of doctors watching and critiquing her every move during the operation adds to the already-enormous pressure.

Stephanie, who is a big fan of the doctor that she describes as a "phenomenally smart woman," will be next to her to assist her and cheer her on while she carries out the complicated procedure. But the promo that shows her fainting in the operating room just makes everyone even more apprehensive about how everything will turn out.

Thankfully, Jerrika Hinton, who plays the role of Stephanie, cleverly dropped some hints about the episode —although the only thing she did is leave the door open and tease fans.

"You won't see the ending coming," the actress told TV Line. "The end of the surgery you think will happen is not the ending we give you."

While all that plays out, the forthcoming Amelia-centric episode will also show Bailey "[become] skeptical" after learning that Arizona was enlisted to handle one of Dr. Herman's cases.

Episode 14 of "Grey's Anatomy" season 11 will be aired on March 6.
