Tensions rise as the first family find themselves in the center of a battle that could threaten the future of Leo (Tanner Buchanan) in the political drama television series "Designated Survivor." Season 2 episode 7 will also see the President of Turkey ask for the extradition of a Turkish activist who ignites protests in the U.S.

The upcoming episode titled "Family Ties" centers on the current situation of the first family in which Tom's (Kiefer Sutherland) wife is being framed, while his son gets attacked. In addition to the problems within the first family, his most trusted advisor is a suspect for the murder of Charlotte Thorn (Larissa Gomes). In an undeniably tough spot, how will Tom and his family recover from all this?

A preview for the upcoming episode shows Tom furious about how his family is being set up, saying he is tired of everyone telling him his hands are tied. He then warns that whoever is running after his family shall be found and shown what he is capable of. The video also shows Leo being told by his mother that people do not always have the purest of motives as he is the son of the president. Moments later, Leo is shown being attacked by unknown culprits. Although it is not clear, this might indicate that Leo could be abducted and held for ransom. It could not be a very good idea to kidnap the son of the commander-in-chief of the armed forces of the U.S. though. What actually happens will remain a mystery until "Family Ties" airs on Wednesday.

In the previous season of "Designated Survivor," Tom Kirkman was only the appointed Secretary of Housing and Development, but quickly rose to power and became President of the U.S. after everyone above him in the line of succession died after a terror attack. The first season can be streamed on demand on Netflix.

"Designated Survivor" season 2 episode 7 will air on Wednesday, Nov. 15 at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
