Divorced and alone, Brad Pitt recently opened up about how it is like living in a home without his family and going through therapy to regain back his life.

In September 2016, Pitt together with his then wife, Angelina Jolie, and their kids were on a private plane going to Los Angeles. According to TMZ, Pitt and Jolie had an argument on the plane and 15-year-old Maddox jumped in to defend his mother. This triggered Pitt to lunge at his teenage son. When Jolie interfered, Pitt had physical contact with the boy's shoulder.

The incident on the plane led to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) running an investigation on Pitt. Five days later, Jolie filed for divorce.

As confirmed by court documents obtained by Entertainment Weekly, Pitt has been cleared by both the FBI and the Department of Child and Family Services of child abuse allegations. Nevertheless, the actor is now living separate from his family, and, according to the media outlet's source, can only see his children under a "monitored therapist."

Eight months later, Pitt opened up about his new life with GQ. Pitt now lives in his kids' childhood home in Hollywood Hills without his family. He has battled addiction and found a new lifestyle altogether.

Pitt revealed that he has a new understanding of R&B music and that he has learned to "embrace what's left." "I just got R&B for the first time. R&B comes from great pain, but it's a celebration," Pitt claimed.

The Hollywood star also shared that he's been listening to a lot of Frank Ocean and "finds this young man so special. Talk about getting to the raw truth." He also explained that ironically, he's connected deeply to Marvin Gaye's "Here, My Dear," which is an album talking about divorce.

Pitt admitted that even if the past six months of his life happened differently, his woes "would have come knocking, no matter what." However, the actor confirmed that it is not midlife crisis, and that he is currently enjoying going to therapy, after having two therapists to find the right fit.

The "World War Z" star also shared that he has rid himself of smoking weed and alcoholism. According to the actor, he has been clean for a while now, and that he doesn't want "to live that way anymore."

Despite having a peaceful life, though, Pitt worries that his kids might get wrong ideas from reports about his divorce with estranged wife Jolie.

"It is a drag to have certain things drug out in public and misconstrued. I worry about it more for my kids, being subjected to it, and their friends getting ideas from it. And of course it's not done with any kind of delicacy or insight—it's done to sell. And so you know the most sensational sells, and that's what they'll be subjected to, and that pains me," Pitt revealed.
