'Attack on Titan' season 2 release date, spoilers news: Anime will take longer to arrive?

It looks like there's still not enough material for "Attack on Titan" season 2 to translate to the small screen, which is why the series might not be back until the latter half of 2016. According to reports, the manga is still two arcs short.

The creators of the anime won't officially work on the new season until there are four new arcs published in the manga. At the time of this writing, there are only two arcs, which is why they are waiting for new ones to arrive. This might take some time, as per reports.

It is unclear how long it will take the rest of the arcs of the manga to arrive but it sure would cost the anime production team some time. In addition, its desire to keep "Attack on Titan" season 2 as close to its source material as possible will prolong the wait of fans.

Nonetheless, this test of patience won't fail fans. Not only will the new season be exciting and well-made with gripping new plotlines to share, it will also be very loyal to creator Hajime Isayama's work.

"Attack on Titan" season 2 is said to put the spotlight on the other side of characters whom fans came to love in the anime. Some members of the Survey Corps will be revealed to have an ability to transform into Titans.

For a start, there's Ymir, who allegedly holds the key to the "ultimate conclusion" of the whole story. Even though she was in the sidelines in the first season of the anime, Ymir will have greater presence in "Attack on Titan" season 2.

She is believed to hold the knowledge about how the flesh-eating Titans came to be. Meanwhile, Eren's ability to change into a Titan will also be unveiled in "Attack on Titan" season 2.

The new season of "Attack on Titan" is rumored to arrive in the second half of 2016.
