Apple Watch 2 release rumors: 4-inch iPhone among Apple offerings in 2016?

With the Watch OS 2 already out, fans are expecting that the second-gen Apple Watch will be seen this year.

While Apple fans are waiting for the new follow-ups to its iPhone and iPad Air lineups, there are other upcoming iterations from the Cupertino-based company that will reportedly surface this year.

According to 9to5Mac, Apple scheduled a closed press invite for March, and it is rumored that the event will be for the unveiling of the second-gen Apple Watch.

With the Watch OS 2 already out, it is already expected that the Cupertino-based company will be coming out with a new wearable. However, Apple is not releasing any details on how the Apple Watch 2 will differ from its predecessor.

The industry follower surmised that similar to how the current Apple Watch got an upgrade to its model versions (the lineup added new straps and the Sport model colors), the second-gen Apple Watch will also be expanded with designer accessories, possibly smart armbands.

In addition, the new Apple Watch might also come out featuring newer and updated health sensor and iPhone-independent features that will vastly improve the wearable smart device's connectivity.

Meanwhile, aside from the iPhone 7 lineups for this year, it is also rumored that Apple will be coming out with a refreshed iPhone 6 iteration. However, much of the speculations are centered on Apple going back old-school –- apparently, the rumored iPhone 6c will be a 4-inch iPhone.

According to Apple Insider, keeping up with the C-series, the new iPhone iteration will be a toned-down version of its current smartphone lineup. However, while this will be a slimmer version, it will still carry at least an A9 processor, 2 GB of RAM, Apple Pay connectivity, and a larger 1,642-mAh battery.

The iPhone 6c is rumored to come out in the early months this year, possibly March. If the rumors are proven true, then the new iPhone 6 lineup addition will be released together with the Apple Watch 2.
