'American Horror Story' season 4 characters revealed for Michael Chiklis, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates

"American Horror Story: The Freak Show" has revealed its new cast members and what role they will be playing in the new season. Are you ready for this? Ready or not, let's get going.

IBT reports that Michael Chiklis has been confirmed as a new cast member of "American Horror Story" and will be joining the 4th season with a major role. Chiklis will be playing the ex-husband of Kathy Bates' character, father of Evan Peters' character and is currently married to Angela Bassett's character.

Creator of the show Ryan Murphy described Chiklis' character to TV Line as "a strong man who is vulnerable." He goes into detail by saying, "He had scenes with Angela and Jessica Lange and [onscreen ex] Kathy Bates. I love the part because its really written to be quite vulnerable, which is something I think Micahel does so well – the strong man who's vulnerable. I'm very excited to see [him] tussle with all those great ladies. And he's really up for it, really excited about it."

What about Angela Bassett's character? There are speculations that she will play the bearded woman. Murphy cleared this rumor with E! Online and said that Bassett's role is "even better than that."

Kathy Bates still doesn't know who will she be playing, but she shared to Popsugar that she knows what she looks like. "It's in the late 1950s in Jupiter, FL, and I know what my character looks like, but I don't know anything else about her. In fact, I've just gone to costume fittings, and we're still developing the character. I haven't seen the script yet, and we start shooting in the middle of July, so time's a-wastin'!"

On the other hand, Sarah Paulson knows what freak show character she will be playing. Paulson tweeted that she will play the conjoined twins, Dot and Bette.
