Samsung Galaxy Note 3 in Russia finally received the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS update, according to reports. XDA developers reminded Russian users to constantly check the notifications panel as the much awaited major Android update is now rolling out.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Android 5.0 Lollipop update has a build number N900XXUEBOA6. However, just like any other OS update, it will be rolled out in phases with the international variant to be the first in line followed by those under a carrier.

The update is up for grabs via Over-The-Air where you will simply tap on the instructions to download and install the new software update. If you have not received the notification yet, check manually on the Settings > General > About phone > Software updates > Check for software updates. Galaxy Note 3 users can also update their devices via KIES by simply plugging the device and launching the KIES.

Users can also download and install manually by getting the firmware file from SamMobile. Extract the contents and boot the phone in Download mode and launch Odin. Connect the phone to the PC and transfer the firmware file to AP / PDA. Lastly, hit the start button.

Meanwhile, Android 5.0 Lollipop OS is the biggest update in Google's mobile software. The update will arrive with a series of performance improvement. One of the biggest improvements in the OS is its new user interface Material Design. Other updates include new notifications bar and Quick Settings, lock screen notifications, multi-user support for phones, and improved security that comes with Smart Lock feature.

It is surprising to see that Samsung Galaxy Note 3 already received the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS ahead of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge. There is no word yet as to when the update will reach the US shores, but the roll out hinted that it will not be long before this happen.
