Nexus 5 2015 phone to be made by LG?

Google's Nexus 6. The next Nexus phone is rumored to be coming from LG. Google site

The new Nexus 6 has just been released a few months ago, and yet fans are already clamoring for the next Google phone. There are already multiple reports that suggest that Google will be coming out with two new Nexus phones before this year ends.

If the way Google markets itself these days is any indication, then the news about the new Nexus phone could be close to the truth. October last year saw Google announcing and releasing three new Nexus devices simultaneously – the Nexus 6 smartphone, the bigger Nexus 9 tablet, and to conquer the multimedia corner, the Nexus Player.

Also, the rumor mill seems to indicate that the next tech giant that Google could partner with for the newest Nexus project is South Korea-based LG. Apparently, Google engineers checked with LG headquarters, but is unclear on whether Google is testing the waters first or that it was just a plain visit to former partners. LG was the one that came up with the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 in the previous years.

Aside from the headquarters, it was also rumored that Google engineers visited different LG facilities that deal with smartphone manufacture, including LG display and wireless-component manufacturing facilities. In addition, LG is also apparently already building a new "N000" device for Google.

Whatever the case may be, it might be possible for Nexus fans to see another new device this year. Heavy Android Lollipop updates are already rolling out for most of the Nexus devices, with the 5.1 update already slated to be seeded to Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 users. The update for the Nexus 7 is made available for the 2012 Wi-Fi version, while it is only a matter of time for the other devices to be upgraded, as the 5.1 Lollipop update for the Nexus 7 2013 is already in the pipeline.
