'Fallout 5' release date, news: Claims production has started are false

Merely a year since "Fallout 4" was released, rumors of a follow-up game have steadily gained traction. Understandably, given that the franchise is successful and with no hints that Bethesda Softworks is planning to pull the plug of the series, this kind of speculation starts the moment the initial hype for the current installment dies down. But things got a little chaotic for what is tipped to be the game's successor, "Fallout 5," when one of the voice actors started talking about the supposed upcoming title.

Ryan Alosio, the voice actor for Deacon in the game, made quite a commotion when he claimed that "Fallout 5" has already started production. Interestingly, he put the information out there via his Instagram which has since been taken down. If anything, the deleted post only roused more interest in what Alosio was trying to say. As it turns out, he was only joking about the development.

In an exclusive conversation with FragHero, Alosio explained himself and how his words, which were "part of a conversation where I was trying to be ridiculous and a liar like Deacon," ignited such a misunderstanding.

"A very small excerpt of a message I was having with someone was grabbed in a screenshot by another member of the community and that person, without the context of knowing I was trying to communicate both as Deacon and as myself at times. Reading this excerpt from my messages, that person assumed, understandably, that I, Ryan, the voice actor was making some comments about some covert knowledge I had about the pre-production of Fallout 5," Alosio clarified the situation.

He also added that he does not know anything about the development of "Fallout 5."

"I cannot 'leak' information I never had. I have never had any information about Fallout 5. I know nothing about Fallout 5," he said.

Bethesda has kept their silence about the situation but it is safe to assume that Alosio has somehow talked to the people inside the company. The last fans heard the group was still hard at work on the much delayed "Fallout 4" mods for PlayStation 4.
