BlackBerry Classic Q20 release date, specs: New smartphone maintains traditional Blackberry look feature

Apart from the unveiling of the latest BlackBerry Passport during the company's global event that was conducted in three different countries at the same time on Sept. 24, the Canadian tech giant is also in the news today for its plans to release another smartphone, dubbed as BlackBerry Classic.

BlackBerry Ltd CEO John Chen spent a lot of time discussing the BlackBerry Passport during the simultaneous event held in Toronto, Dubai, and London, but he also brushed up a little about the BlackBerry Classic device.

Earlier called the BlackBerry Q20, the Classic is described by Crackberry as a BlackBerry Bold-looking phone paired with the BlackBerry 10 features.

According to Value Walk, the Classic will come in a 3.5-inch display and will be installed with a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor. It will also have a built-in 2 GB Ram and an expandable card slot that could accommodate up to 64 GB. The phone will run using the latest BlackBerry 10.3 operating system. Also, several reports said that it will be the thinnest BlackBerry phone that will be released in the market.

But unlike the earlier BlackBerry phones, the Classic will allegedly come with a powerful 13-megapixel camera that can compete with the other leading smartphones in the market today.

The camera rumor reportedly came from the Chinese microblogging site called Weibo. According to the leaked reports posted in the site, the Canadian tech giant is conducting a camera test phase to find out if the device can have the capacity to record 4k quality videos.

Blackberry had experience a sales rut over the past years. With the release of the BlackBerry Classic as well as the company's new flagship phone BlackBerry Passport, John Chen is hoping that the company, known for its business-centric products, will finally earn a slot in the battle of smartphones in the market today.

The new BlackBerry Classic will allegedly hit the store shelves this November.
