Apple to launch 12.9 iPad Pro, biggest iPad tablet in early 2015

Apple's iPad just keeps getting better. Apple is not content with what the iPad is bringing in terms of earnings. Hence, Apple is set to shake up the iPad line a bit.

According to Bloomberg, the prospective release date for the new iPad will be in early 2015. It is rumored to be called the iPad Pro and will be the biggest iPad tablet to date.

An undisclosed source told Bloomberg that the table will be 12.9-inch in size. It also said that Apple has been scouting for suppliers to enable them to develop larger size iPads.

What could the possible features be? The screen display is said to be nearing ultra-high definition quality, which means that it will have a very high pixel density. According to Mac Rumors, it will mix the best design elements of the iPad mini and iPad air—narrow side bezels and ultrathin chassis.

Bloomberg reports that Apple spokeswoman Trudy Buller refused to comment on the matter. But even if she doesn't say a word, it is public knowledge that the iPad line isn't doing as well as the iPhone. Sales of the iPad had declined over the two quarters. The lack of new models is the culprit and the reason why people are picking bigger-sized smartphones over the tablets.

And for this reason, Apple Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook is looking to make some innovations on the iPad line. The company already started working on a 2nd gen iPad Air and will start on a newer version of the retina iPad mini. Both new versions will have upgraded processors plus the Touch ID fingerprint sensor featured in the iPhone 5S.
