Yarn Yoshi amiibo release date coming for the holidays

Yarn Yoshi Amiibo Nintendo Official

Nintendo just announced new release dates, games, and accessories on Monday and one of the reveals was the Mega Yarn Yoshi, a large-sized amiibo version of Mario and Luigi's dinosaur friend.

The cute amiibo figurine is made from knitted yarn and is an oversized version of Yarn Yoshi, which was launched earlier this year together with "Yoshi's Woolly World."

However, the new knitted version of Yoshi assumes the standing position and is, of course, bigger in size.

The Mega Yarn Yoshi functions the same way as the smaller sized amiibo designs, which means that when a player taps on the Wii U gamepad playing "Yoshi's Woolly World," the mega amiibo Yoshi triggers the appearance of another Yoshi.

The second Yoshi that will pop up in the game can be used anytime. In addition, it will also allow players to save a Yoshi pattern to the amiibo, as reported in Gamespot. Both functions are also available in the standard-sized Yoshi.

With all the cuteness of the figurine, one should expect that it will cost a lot — and it does. The Mega Yarn Yoshi amiibo will cost around $40 when it becomes available on Nov. 15.

This price is double that of the standard Yarn Yoshi, which is sold at $17.

The release of the adorable, knitted large-sized Yarn Yoshi amiibo is just perfect for the holidays. Although it might come with a hefty price tag, it is expected to sell out pretty quickly.

In other amiibo news, the most-awaited Mewtwo amiibo will be hitting the shelves on Nov. 13. That means fans should watch out for two amiibo releases from Nintendo.

The Mewtwo amiibo will first be released in the United States on the date mentioned, while it will arrive in Europe by Oct. 23.

When it comes to the function, the Mewtwo amiibo will work just like any other amiibo.
