Xiaomi Mi 4: Unite with infected malware was a fake

Xiaomi scored a big upper cut to Bluebox after the latter made vicious claims that the company had been selling units full of malware.

The whole issue cropped up when security company Bluebox made proverbial jabs at Xiaomi after they tested a unit.

According to an initial report released by Bluebox, apps installed in the supposed infected device were disguised as Google apps. It was here that Bluebox went as low as saying that Xiaomi had a third party installing the malware. As it turned out, the device that Bluebox was testing was a fake, a counterfeit unit.

Based on the internal device photos handed by Bluebox, such didn't match their factory. Further to that, the hardware was curiously different when compared to authentic parts from Xiaomi. And capping it all off was the IMEI, which as it turned out, was a clone and something that been used in scams before.

Moreover, the installed software is not an authentic MIUI build. MIUI software follows exactly Android CDD and Xiaomi further adds that all of its units sold in China are fully Android compatible.

Both parties worked closely after news about the said malware infected Xiaomi Mi4 came out last March 5 at the Bluebox website.

However after both Xiaomi and Bluebox worked closely to check out the claims, it turns out that the unit in question was indeed a counterfeit unit which is nothing new for some companies that come out with imitation units.
