Xbox One Scorpio news: Console tipped to be a 'beast of a box'

Microsoft hopes to make Virtual Reality gaming possible not only on the PC but the console as well, and the company plans to do this with the Xbox One Scorpio.

In an interview with Gamertag Radio, head of Xbox Games Aaron Greenberg explained how Microsoft will make that possible with the highly anticipated console.

"We're going to build a box, we're going to build a beast of a box, that will be 6TFLOPs of power that will be able to deliver true 4K games, and be able to do high fidelity VR, in the living room, on a console," he went on to say.

Greenberg also imagines the possibilities in the Xbox One Scorpio with the Xbox Play Anywhere campaign in the future. For the uninitiated, Xbox Play Anywhere allows games to both be playable on the PC and the Xbox One.

It allows players to save their progress in one game, say, on their Xbox One and pick up where they left off on their PC. "Halo Wars 2" is one of the games offering that feature right now.

Meanwhile, Microsoft head of publishing Shannon Loftis emphasized the company's goal in an interview with the Associated Press and the primary thing they plan for the Xbox One Scorpio.

"We're trying to shift the culture and put the power of when to upgrade in the hands of gamers, as opposed to it being driven by technology or a corporate initiative," he said.

"I hope that we don't frustrate gamers. We're responding to them. The feedback we've received is that they want more choices," Loftis went on to say.

Sony has already admitted that the Xbox One Scorpio will be more powerful than their upcoming console, the PlayStation Neo.

GamingBolt believes that Microsoft has this competition in the bag, seeing the likability of the Nintendo NX failing to outperform the Xbox One Scorpio as well.

The Xbox One Scorpio will be released holiday 2017.
