Xbox Mini is not real, says Microsoft Xbox big boss

There is no smaller version of the famed Microsoft Xbox Mini, at least for now.

This was confirmed no less by Microsoft Xbox Division Head Phil Spencer who aired his reply via Twitter on the spreading rumor that Microsoft is currently working on an Xbox Mini.

With that out of the way, gamers will have to deal with the fact that Microsoft's latest and only gaming console available in the market right now is the Xbox One. Design changes could be forthcoming, a development that is only normal; but as far as smaller version of the said console is concerned, nothing is in the works.

For those who missed the rumors, word about an Xbox Mini came from WPDang. According to that post, an alleged Xbox One Mini would weight about a third of the current Xbox One, quieter, and smaller but will be without a drive, which means all content will be loaded digitally. Such meant that Blu-ray play back might be rescinded in the rumored new design.

While a mini version could come in handy, it does bring some questions as well. That includes what components would be taken out and what a miniature gaming console would be limited to. Such are just some of the considerations tied up to it, although it may be a waste thinking about it right now since that claim has been shut down.

The closest thing to hope for is perhaps a slimmer version of the Xbox One that will not compromise the features of what an actual console carries. Could this be what people can look forward to in October?

Of course, timing seems a bit off and there is no evidence to support that Microsoft is ready to append its current gaming console, at least not yet.

The only thing sure right now is that there is no Xbox Mini coming so you can just drop that hope. Below is the reply of Spencer via Twitter.
