Xbox gamers are getting even more Xbox 360 classic games on the Xbox One through Microsoft's backwards compatibility program as new reports reveal that six free games have been added to the tech mogul's backwards compatible library.
According to a report by Daily Star, Microsoft has officially added four more Xbox 360 games to its growing roster of backwards compatible titles. Meanwhile, two other Xbox 260 games have been rumored to join the list in the next few weeks as well.
The games that have been officially made available on the Xbox One through the backwards compatibility program include "Omega Five," "Dead Space Ignition," "Escape Dead Island," and "Military Madness." Aside from the Xbox 360 classics, "Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3" and "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion" were also accidentally revealed as backwards compatible after Microsoft released the new Black Friday 2016 sale's page. Apparently, the company has listed both of the titles under a list Xbox 360 games that may also be played on the Xbox One — a sure fire sign of backwards compatibility.
Though Major Nelson has reported that the games were added in the list because of an error and that Microsoft was working on correcting the list, it seems like gamers are now anticipating to see the game join the backwards compatible fold.
Gamespot reports that though "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III" and "The Elder Scrolls IV:Oblivion" have been denied a part in the backwards compatible library of Microsoft, it is quite possible that the games could make the cut someday. After all, Microsoft has already worked on backwards compatibility on other titles from the game's respective publishers, Activision and Bethesda.
"Call of Duty: Black Ops" has already been made backwards compatible for Xbox One, and so has the original "Doom" and its sequel. "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III" and "The Elder Scrolls IV:Oblivion" on the Xbox One through backwards compatibility isn't far off — gamers will just have to stretch their patience and wait.
